We create video productions for my customers for my business and many times need background music for youtube videos. Almost all of these videos use background music. In our work it is widely known what the fines are for using music without licensing in our products. What many people may not realize is that copyright holders earn big money suing violators. So they are constantly searching for violators. It was not very long ago that someone filmed Tony Romo's wedding and used a Coldplay song without permission. Rumor has it that he got fined a very large dollar amount. I think they ended up settling out of court, if I remember correctly. It was enough to convince me to buy licensed music tracks for my work every time. It really doesn't cost that much either. I bought a package of 100 tracks for less than thirty dollars recently.
