Short Ton Productions Produces Songs for Film and TV

Writing songs for sync in film and TV is a different skill, different than that of traditional songwriting. Songs synced to picture often have specific needs that composers should be knowledgeable about. The music's text must not contain any profanity, reference any specific people or places, and fit a variety of opportunities. This makes sure that the music can be placed more picture including television series, movies, and advertisements. Any song with lyrics should additionally have an instrumental only version available because often times, vocals distract from the scene. When creating the no vocal version, it can be helpful to play the melody with an instrument. Cues should be edited to multiple lengths ranging from fifteen seconds to full-length. This allows the producer to work the song to the scene more easily. Additionally, not all compositions need to be the usual 3:30 length. Cues may be between 1:00-1:50. Cues work better if there is only one motif and no major change in speed, key, or instrumentation. To get your compositions in TV, observe trends and what is currently being used. connect with music supervisors and music libraries and publishers who can help sync your tracks. Use these suggestions, and most importantly keep on writing songs and you'll be well on your way.
