I create videos for my clientele for my business and many times need background music for youtube videos. Almost all of these videos use background music. In our world it is widely known what the fines are for using music without licensing in our products. What people outside our industry may not realize is that copyright holders make huge amounts of money suing violators. So they are constantly searching for violators. It was not long ago that someone filmed Tony Romo's wedding and used a Coldplay song without permission. Rumor has it that he got fined a huge dollar amount. I believe they ended up settling out of court, if memory serves. It was enough to convince me to buy licensed music tracks for my work every time. It really is not expensive either. I bought a pack of 100 tracks for less than thirty dollars recently.
