SADD's way of the issue was to develop peer-to-peer academic programs in college chapters including middle schools to colleges. In 1997, SADD expanded its mission to add underage consuming, substance abuse, impaired driving, violence, and suicide. SADD's programs are keyed toward needs of individual school areas. These mainly include peer-led classes, forums, workshops, conferences and rallies, along with other awareness-raising tasks.
